Ploče Gate

Dubrovnik, Croatia

min visit

This Renaissance gateway stands as one of Dubrovnik's most iconic entrances, marking where the eastern city walls meet the Stradun promenade. Built in the 15th century, the Ploče Gate features a striking stone archway crowned with the city's coat of arms and has welcomed travelers, merchants, and curious visitors for over five centuries. The gate perfectly captures the architectural confidence of the Venetian-influenced period when Dubrovnik was at its commercial and cultural peak.
