Stradun (Main Street)

Stradun is Dubrovnik's iconic limestone-paved thoroughfare, stretching from the Pile Gate to the harbor with perfectly symmetrical Renaissance architecture lining both sides. Once a shallow channel separating the island of Ragusa from the mainland, this street was filled in during the 12th century to become the city's commercial and social heart.
