Hol Chan Marine Reserve

This stunning marine sanctuary protects 13 square kilometers of pristine coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangrove forests just south of San Pedro, making it one of Belize's most biodiverse underwater destinations. Expect to encounter vibrant tropical fish, nurse sharks, eagle rays, and if you're lucky, manatees gliding through crystal-clear waters where visibility often exceeds 60 feet. The reserve's four distinct zones each offer unique ecosystems, from the popular Shark Ray Alley where southern rays congregate peacefully to the dramatic coral formations of the barrier reef.
