Pyrgos Village

Pyrgos is Santorini's highest settlement, a medieval fortress village crowned by a Venetian castle where whitewashed cubic houses cluster tightly together in an almost labyrinthine layout. The village retains an authentic, timeless character largely untouched by mass tourism, offering panoramic views across the caldera and neighboring islands from its winding streets. Local tavernas serve traditional Cycladic fare while artisans still work in small studios tucked between ancient stone walls.
