Patan Durbar Square (UNESCO)

This enchanting medieval square showcases centuries of Newari craftsmanship through intricately carved wooden temples, palaces, and courtyards that seem frozen in time. Three primary courtyards—Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk, and Keshav Narayan Chowk—are graced by ornate shrines dedicated to various deities, each telling stories of royal patronage and religious devotion. The 2015 earthquake significantly damaged several monuments, but restoration efforts have preserved the square's authentic charm while revealing hidden architectural treasures.
