The Marangu Route, often called the 'Coca-Cola Route' for its relatively comfortable hut accommodations, winds through lush rainforest, montane heath zones, and alpine meadows on its gentle ascent to Kilimanjaro's crater rim. This five to six-day journey offers the most established infrastructure of any Kilimanjaro route, with pre-built shelters and steady water sources making it accessible for first-time trekkers. The path rewards climbers with stunning vistas of Uhuru Peak and the chance to witness the dramatic contrast between tropical vegetation at the base and the stark, snow-capped summit.
